Political parties stage protest demo at Aabpara Chowk

ISLAMABAD—Hundreds of people staged a protest demonstration against the imposition of emergency and promulgation of Provincial Constitutional Order (PCO) here at Aabpara Chowk on Wednesday.
The protest demonstration which was largely attended by the activities of Civil societies, PPP, PML-N, Awami Jamhouri Ittihad and relatives of the missing persons strongly condemned the emergency rule, house arrest of judges and political leaders, illegal arrests of lawyers and party workers and missing persons.
During the protest which continued for hours, the participants chanted anti-government slogans. They were also holding banners and placard inscribed with "Go Musharraf Go". MNA Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Nagris Faiz Malik, former Secretary Interior Rohidad Khan, Tahira Abdullah, Chairperson Defence of Human Rights, Amna Masood Janjua, Babar Minhas, Ejaz, Abrar Rizvi, Farzana Bari and several others also addressed on the occasion.
On the occasion, Nayyar Bukhari, Nagris Faiz Malik and Amna Masood Janjua while talking to the journalists strongly condemned the military rule in Pakistan and demanded from the International community to play its role to overcome present turmoil.
They also strongly condemned the house arrest of Benazir Bhutto and regretted over the poor performance of government for doing nothing to recover the missing persons yet. While talking about the ban on media they said that by placing ban on private media shows that government is not sincere for holding free and transparent election.
However, they said that their struggle for the independence of judiciary, restoration of constitution and freedom of speech would continue.
