match in Asian U-19 football championship
LAHORE—The National Youth
football teams of Pakistan and Lebanon will play their fourth match in
36th AFC U19 Championship tomorrow, Wednesday, at Teheran.
The 6-team event is in progress at Teheran’s Paas Stadium and Rah Ahan
Stadium, and will come to conclusion on November 17.
Lebanon is favorite to win the match as they are currently third in the
table with six points from three matches while Pakistan yet to open
account. Group-leader Iran will take on fifth-placed Bahrain on the same
day while Oman, second behind Iran on goal-counts, will clash with India
(3 pts) who have an outside chance to qualify from this group.
The top-two teams from each of the seven qualifying groups, including
Group-B, of AFC U19 Championship advance to the finals along with the
best third-placed team. The top-four finishers of AFC Youth Championship
2008 will advance to the 17th FIFA World Youth Championship 2009 at
Egypt .
