Consulate of Republic of Sudan inaugurated in HK

HONG KONG—Republic of Sudan opened a new Consulate in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), China, here Monday, taking a step forward to attract investors from one of the world’s financial centers.
Mirghani Mohamed Salih, Sudanese Ambassador to China, and Peter Lee, Honorary Consul of Sudan in Hong Kong officiated the opening of the Consulate in Hong Kong SAR, which also takes charge of consular issues in Macao SAR, China. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Consulate, Peter Lee said Sudan is becoming a popular place for investment in recent years with its rich mineral resources, especially its oil reserve. Lee said he was delighted to be appointed Honorary Consul representing Sudan in his native Hong Kong, and he believed the opening of the consulate will enhance the knowledge of Sudan among Hong Kong public and the investors.—Xinhua
