MMA announces protest drive

LAHORE—Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal has announced to observe three-day protest in Punjab against the imposition of Emergency. This was announced by the leader of MMA Liaquat Baloch at a news conference here on Sunday.
He said Black Day would be observed on Wednesday and solidarity day with Judiciary on Thursday.
He welcomed the change in the attitude of Pakistan Peoples Party. However, he asked the PPP leadership to do more to make the joint efforts of the Opposition more result oriented.
Liaquat Baloch said that the decision to take part in the next general elections or otherwise would be taken by APDM in All Parties Conference.
He said that MMA would not peruse the eligibility case of the President placed before the bench of those Judges who had taken oath under the PCO. In this connection, he said, the lawyers of this case have been asked not to appear before the court. He demanded the withdrawal of PEMRA Ordinance and restoration of all private news channels.—Agencies
