Ahsan slams extra constitutional action

ISLAMABAD—Ahsan Iqbal, Secretary Information, PMLN said, ‘elections under emergency will be a replay of fraudulant 2002 presidential referendum.
In a statement, Ahsan Iqbal, Secretary Information, PMLN said that the demand of nation is restoration of constitution & pre-3 Nov judiciary, removal of restrictions from media before holding of elections, which are pre-requisites for fair & free election.
With thousands of opposition workers & leaders in jail, Mr. Nawaz Sharif deported & security agencies still carrying out raids for more arrests who will accept the drama of election. There is one thing very clear now that one man is pitched up against the whole nation just to keep himself in power at all cost.
He said that claim of General Musharaf that he adheres to constitution is absurd as he has suspended the constitution for the second time & there is no constitution in country because of his 3 Nov step. If situation in the country had become as bad as General Musharaf is claiming then he alone is responsible for this mess as he was ruling for last 8 years with full powers.
He further added that Today Pakistan is earning bad publicity thoroughout the world due to General Musharaf’s extra constitutional action. His charge sheet against judiciary is baseless as for the first time judiciary’s independence brought sense of accountability in executive branch, which General couldn’t digest.
