ITP’s Road Safety & Education Programme soon, SSP Zubair

ISLAMABAD—Islamabad Traffic Police; ITP, in collaboration with an NGO ‘Save the Children, USA’, would initiate a Road Safety and Education Programme in which different events would be organized in schools and colleges, to acquaint the children with traffic laws. This was disclosed by SSP Traffic; Zubair Hashmi, while addressing the concluding ceremony of Road Safety Workshop, arranged by ITP, at the NGO’s office, here this Sunday.
According to details, a workshop was organised in association with Save the Children USA to accustom the staffers of the NGO with the workings of Islamabad Traffic Police and road safety laws. The Education Team of ITP delivered lectures on the topic.
The concluding ceremony was attended by Mr. Muhammad Zubair Hashmi
(SSP Traffic), Michael Mcgrath (Country Director, Save the Children USA), Norman Steward (Safety Specialist of the NGO), Tayyaba Aurangzeb (Deputy Director of the NGO), Riaz Ahmed (Manager Operations of the NGO), DSP/Traffic Headquarters and other staff members of the NGO.
SSP Traffic Islamabad while addressing the concluding ceremony said that ITP is utilizing all available resources to educate the masses to create a read sense among them and to polish their driving skills. “Colleges and Schools are being visited by the Road Safety and Education team of ITP to deliver lectures to students on the traffic laws and regulations”, he added Refreshed courses for PSVs drivers are being arranged to highlight traffic educational aspects along with enforcement”, SSP Traffic said.
SSP Traffic; Muhammad Zubair Hashmi disclosed that ITP would widen its road safety and education programme in association with Save the Children USA and arranged its programmes in all the education institutions.
Mr. Michael Mcgrath, Country Director of the NGO extended full support of his organization to the ITP and endorsed its efforts being carried out for the betterment of smooth and free flow of traffic in the capital. Certificates were awarded to the participants of the workshop by the SSP Traffic. Souvenirs were exchanged between the Country Director of the NGO and SSP Traffic.
