FIR registered against suicide attack

PESHAWAR—The police here on Sunday registered a case against unknown persons for masterminding the suicide attack at the Federal Minister Amir Muqam’s house. Four people, including former NWFP minister Pir Mohammad Khan, were killed and scores of others injured when a suicide attacker hit the residence of Amir Muqam in Hayatabad, Peshawar, on Friday. Peshawar police said that a case has been registered on the report of the Federal Minister, Amir Muqam’s driver, Shahid Anwar. The FIR stated that a meeting was scheduled at the Amir Muqam’s residence at Hayatabad here on Friday, when a young man tried to enter into the drawing room after sneaking into the house, who when intercepted by the security men at the entrance door blew himself up, which resulted into the death of provincial former minister, Pir Muhammad Khan and three security men, while four persons were wounded.—Online
