President to doff uniform after election notification: Durrani
By Ali Imran

ISLAMABAD—Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani on Friday underlined that as soon as Election Commission issues a formal Presidential Election notification, President Musharraf will doff his uniform.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani expressed these views while talking to Journalists on Friday.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani was of the view that President Musharraf's announcement of doffing uniform before taking oath as President has thwarted all the conspiracies designed to block the transition to full democracy in the country.
Replying to a question, Durrani said that the decision of the President would lead the country towards Civilian Rule, as he would take oath after doffing his uniform once some legal hitches are resolved.
He further said that immediately after the schedule of Election Commission, Interim Government would be set up. Those politicians who are resorting to negative practices would get atrocious defeat at the hands of masses, he held.
Responding to another question, Durrani said that no political leader including Benazir Bhutto is above the law stressing if BB could have delayed her visit to Karachi then such a tragedy (October 18 carnage) could never have occurred. "Time has come for all the political parties to sit together and chalk out a comprehensive way through a meaningful dialogue to solve all thorny issues", Durrani maintained.
Replying to yet another question, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani added that decision of clamping of emergency was taken in challenging circumstances and was the right decision at that hour.
