By Our Diplomatic Correspondent

ISLAMABAD—Foreign Office spokesman Muhammad Sadiq Wednesday said that friendly countries while expressing their views on imposition of emergency in the country should realize the ground conditions that prompted this action.
The spokesman told PTV that emergency had been imposed to control the growing menace of terrorism in the country.
He said that emergency is entirely an internal matter of Pakistan and “we expect the friendly countries to understand the conditions which have prompted the government to take this extraordinary step”
The spokesman said that terrorism and extremism are the international challenges in the contemporary world and Pakistan is doing its best to curb this menace alongside its international partners.
