KCCA’s
resolutions on new PCB constitution
Bureau Report
KARACHI—The Executive Council of Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA)
held under the Chairmanship of Dr.S.M.A. Shah on Sunday evening and
expressed their satisfaction in getting rid of Adhocism Pakistan Cricket
Board (PCB) after eight years.
The meeting was largely attended by KCCA Vice Presidents Khalil Ahmed
Nainitalwal, Ajmal Ansari, Mehtab Ahmed, Mian Azmat Hussain and all
Executive Council members. The Council also felicitated Dr. Nasim Ashraf
on his nomination as Chairman PCB for a fresh term of 3 year terms. KCCA
extended full support and cooperation to him for his successful tenure
as constitutional Chairman of PCB.
However the KCCA Council expressed its grave reservation on various
clauses of the newly implemented Constitution of PCB and urged Dr.Nasim
Ashraf to defer its implementation and holding any meeting of PCB
Governing Board until removal of various ambiguities and anomalies. The
Council requested the Chairman for an urgent meeting with the
representatives of KCCA to point out its reservations. The EC meeting
also expressed its grave concern over withdrawal of permanent seats of
Karachi and Lahore - the premier cricket nurseries of Pakistan cricket,
on the Governing Board of PCB which used to enjoy permanent seats in PCB
Council in the subsequent Constitutions of PCB and ambiguity on the
representation of Karachi and Lahore on the General Body of PCB
according to cricketing density.
The Council urged the President of Pakistan to restore permanent seats
for Karachi and Lahore and allow at least one representative from each
of the four provinces with a special seat to the twin cities of
Islamabad and Rawalpindi on the Governing Board of PCB.
The meeting appealed to President of Pakistan who is the Patron of the
PCB to restore the democratic shape of PCB. Presently in the house of 15
members only six members are elected while majority (nine) are
nominated. |
