Lawyers to continue struggle against unconstitutional step of govt: DBA
Staff Report

ISLAMABAD—President of District Bar Association of Islamabad, Haroon-ur-Rashid on Monday said that lawyers would continue their struggle against the unconstitutional steps of the government.
He stated this while addressing a gathering of lawyers at District Court Islamabad.
He said that the lawyer’s fraternity had played important role in saving the country and now they would play vital role against unconstitutional steps.
He lauded the judges who had refused to take oath under Provisional Constitutional Ordinance (PCO) and expressed the sympathies of lawyer’s fraternity with them.
He announced to boycott the proceedings being held under judges of Supreme Court and High Court who took oath under PCO and said soon a protest movement would be launched against them.
“ We are supporting army men who are guarding the country but support will not be extended to usurpers,” he maintained.
He condemned the torturing of lawyers across the country and vowed to continue the efforts against dictators. Baton charges and tear-gassing is not a new thing for us, he added.
Martial law is not a divine scripture, he mentioned adding that we want supremacy of law and constitution in the country for sake of democracy.
Later on, protesters vowed to get their rights in all circumstances.
