Security beefed up after declaration of emergency

RAWALPINDI—After the declaration of emergency rule, the security throughout Pakistan has been beefed up to keep the law and order situation in control.
Heavy and fresh contingent of police personnel have set up check posts at different sensitive points and buildings.
Similarly, police have also established check post at all the exit and entrance places in Rawalpindi.
When contacted with Central Police Officer Rawalpindi and DIG Rawalpindi Syed Saud Aziz, he said that police have been put on high alert in order to meet any unpleasant incident.
Police of all police stations throughout Rawalpindi, Patrolling force, Elite Force and Mohafiz Force are patrolling in the city.
However, the situation in Rawalpindi is fully in control and there is no information of the any protest from any part of the city, he added.
Meanwhile, security at all mosques, Imam Bargahs, Airports, Railways Station and important business centers have also been increased.
Extra deployment of police force has been made at all exit and entry points of the city and strict checking of vehicles is underway at the various points, the official sources said on Saturday.
They said Punjab police may be called for the assistance of federal police if deemed necessary. “ High security would be maintained in the Federal Capital in order to avert any untoward incident”, the sources added.
Police and other law enforcement agencies are on high alert in Islamabad and this state of alertness will be maintained in the days ahead, he added.
The sources said that all possible security measures are being taken to ward off any untoward incident while the security for VIPs has been also enhanced.
They said that ICT administration and police have made security arrangements at all worship places, public places and Diplomatic Enclave.
Police patrolling has been enhanced, they maintained.
