judges pledge resistance
ISLAMABAD—The dismissed Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Justice Sabih
Uddin Ahmed has said that the judges who refused to take oath under
Provincial Constitutional Order (PCO) will go to duty today (Monday).
BBC quoted Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Sabih Uddin Ahmed as
saying that the judges will perform their duties in accordance with
routine. He said he has still not been received the dismissal
notification and he is still Chief Justice of Sindh High Court and vowed
to go office on Monday. Justice Sabih Uddin added he cannot say anything
whether the Police will arrest him or not on Monday while going to
office or not.
He said he received a verdict of Supreme Court of Pakistan on Saturday
night through fax. According to the unanimous decision of seven judges
of apex court, he said, no judge will take oath under PCO. Appointment
of any judge and Chief Justice of High Courts and Supreme Court under
PCO will be declared unconstitutional and illegal, Justice Sabih Uddin
maintained.
No contact has been made with Government so far, he disclosed. The
dismissed Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Justice Sabih Uddin Ahmed
said it has come to the notice that some judges were convened in
Governor house but no opinion had been sought from them. The Personnel
of security forces are taking Government vehicles and guards back by
saying that he is not Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, he told
