Project of Fatima Jinnah Park delayed

ISLAMABAD—The extension project of Fatima Jinnah Park costing Rs. 4.5 billion has been delayed as the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and its attached departments failed to complete the first phase of the project till November 1 and now the first phase would be completed by the end of this month.
According to sources, F-9 Park covering the land of 750 acre and Rs. 4.50 billion has been allocated for the PC-1 of the project and development work in the 1st phase would be completed with the cost of Rs. 22 million. Sources further said that Chairman CDA Kamran Lashari had given the deadline of November 1 to the Project Management Office to complete the development works on 40-acre land in the 1st phase and open for the people.
Under the 1st phase of the project, five and a half kilometer walking and jogging track was to be completed and the installation of modern fountains was also included in this phase. The project related to the parking of 600 vehicles was also included in the 1st phase.
The 1st phase has not yet been completed and the development work on 2nd phase covering the land of 200 acre started with the cost of Rs. 15 million which would be completed in one year. Under the 2nd phase, Green Lawns and Jogging track would be developed as well as beautiful flowers would be planted.—Online
