Benazir, Nawaz likely to meet soon: Jahangir

ISLAMABAD—Secretary General of Pakistan Peoples Party Jehangir Badar has said Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif are in contact with each other under charter of democracy and a meeting between the two leaders is likely to take place soon.
He said this while addressing a largely attended press conference here Saturday after AJK PPP executive council meeting.
He pledged that real democracy would be restored in AJK with removing corrupt people from AJK political scene following restoration of democratic order in Pakistan.
Citing to Benazir public meeting in Rawalpindi he said historical welcome would be accorded to Benazir Bhutto on her arrival in Rawalpindi on October, 9. " We pay rich tributes to martyrs of Karachi carnage. We will continue our war till the final victory", he declared.
PPP workers are ready to sacrifice their lives, he said adding the entire world including UN condemned the attack on Benazir Bhutto. She is global leader who is waging struggle for peace in the world, he added. Benazir is symbol of stability of federation and democracy, he underlined. " We keep the matters open, he added.
PPP is heading towards right direction, he said adding PPP-government dialogue is part of democracy. The talks are not out of documents, he remarked. About Benazir, Ishaq Dar meeting he said these talks are part of charter of democracy.
2002 general elections were sham, he alleged. PML-Q is clique of political orphans. All the defectors of political parties are gathered under PML-Q banner, he alleged. Interim government of national consensus be put in place so that transparent elections could take place, he demanded.
All the political parties will have to follow one direction to curb menace of terrorism, he underlined. PPP rejects code of conduct issued by election commission of Pakistan, Jahangir Badar said.
