ECP extends last date for comments on Draft Code of Conduct

ISLAMABAD—The Election Commission of Pakistan has extended the last date for sending the comments/suggestions on the Draft Code of Conduct for the Political Parties and the Contesting Candidates upto November 6.
The Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan in a statement has stated that the Draft Code of Conduct for upcoming General Elections was circulated on the October 24 to the Political Parties for inviting their comments/suggestions so as to reach the Election Commission of Pakistan Secretariat, Islamabad by the November 3rd.
However, on the request of some of the Representatives of the Political Parties, the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan has been pleased to extend the last date for sending comments on the Draft Code of Conduct.
The Secretary, Election Commission further informed that the Draft Code of Conduct for the Political Parties and Contesting Candidates alongwith the comments/ suggestions, as received from the Political Parties will be placed before the Election Commission of Pakistan for consideration in a Meeting with the Representatives of the Political Parties to be held shortly after receipt of their comments/suggestions.
