EC restores membership of three MPAs

ISLAMABAD—Election Commission of Pakistan on Friday restored the membership of three more members of provincial assemblies following their submission of yearly statement of assets and liabilities. According to a notification issued by Secretary Election Commission, one MPA from Sindh Assembly whose membership has been restored is Syed Asif Ali Shah (PP-72 Dadu-II). The Punjab Assembly members whose membership has been restored are Raja Muhammad Tariq Kiani (PP-3 Rawalpindi-III) and Mst Maria Tariq (PP-113 Gujrat-VI). These MPAs had failed to submit statements of assets and liabilities of their own, their spouses and dependents to the Commission under sub-section 42A of the Representation of the People Act, 1976 so their membership was suspended.—Agencies
