JI offers role for peace in Waziristan, Swat

LAHORE—MMA president and Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said JI is ready to play its role if government wants peace and tranquility in North Waziristan and other tribal areas.
He said this while addressing a press conference here at Mansoora on Thursday. He told no differences would persist in the ranks of MMA after November, 8 summit meeting of the religious alliance adding APDM would also look united.
Government policy of national reconciliation put aside, MMA will put its own house in order before reconciliation with PPP and PML-Q, he underscored. Any fool can expect transparent and fair elections in the country in the presence of general Musharraf, PML-Q and MQM, he told. If any step alien to constitution is taken at present it will fuel chaos and blood shed in the country, he warned.
He urged the JI members to give strategy to people to come on the roads for end to dictatorship besides extricating the country from crisis. “ Keeping in view the prevailing crisis like situation of the country I in exercise of my discretionary powers have asked the members of JI to evolve guidelines and strategy to bring the people on roads for end to dictatorship and restoration of democracy in the country besides ensuring fair and transparent elections”, he remarked.
Country is passing through chaotic situation, he said adding bomb blasts are taking place every where. Bomb explosions took place in Benazir Bhutto welcome rally and suicide attacks occurred near army house in Rawalpindi and in Sargodha, he added. “ We are afraid rulers may derail the country from democratic track, he cautioned.
National security is put at stake due to imprudent policies of general Musharraf, he held He regretted army personnel were being butchered adding this was outcome of rulers agenda. He said no soldier can think of killing his country fellows alleging it is all part of a conspiracy.
Online adds: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Sher Afgan Niazi has feared that suicide attack at Leader of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman might take place. While talking to Private TV Channel he said that some section of society are accusing Maulana Fazl of being an agent of President General Pervez Musharraf and Governor NWFP.
“Whenever, some important development or issue takes place he is either gone for umrah or fall ill, he said by adding that he is causing great affect to the spirit of All Parties Democratic Alliance (APDM).” Therefore, he expressed his worry that he might become victim of suicide attack due to his this dodging behavior on important national issues.
In response to a question he said that Presidential election has been completed and they are waiting only for notification. The re-election of President General Pervez Musharraf as President is purely according to the Electoral College.
Meanwhile, in his telephonic address to Chakwal Press Club from Islamabad Press Club he said that national and provincial assemblies will be dissolved till November 15, 2007 and current government set will come to end. He also condemned the suicide attack on Pakistan Air Force Bus in Sargodha .
While talking about National Reconciliation Ordinance, Sher Afgan said that it has been promulgated for the elimination of personnel vengeances and false accusation level by former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto on Mian Nawaz Sharif and vice versa between the year 1986-1996.
