Ties with Pakistan long term: US envoy
By Our Diplomatic Correspondent

Islamabad—US has said that the U.S.-Pakistan relationship is a long-term, broad-based partnership, based on factors such as strong trade and investment, security interests, and long-standing cultural and educational ties
The U.S. Embassy here in a statement issued on Thursday said, “The United States does not “rank” one country as more or less important than another in any framework of strategic interests. Our relationships with each state are based on U.S. national interests in relation to that state. The U.S.-Pakistan relationship is a long-term, broad-based partnership, based on factors such as strong trade and investment, security interests, and long-standing cultural and educational ties.” “It is in the U.S. national interest to continue developing its cooperation with Pakistan as a moderate, successful, modern nation that, through its commitment to democratic principles and shared values, represents a reliable partner in the community of nations”, the statement said.
