SC seeks complete details about missing persons
By Ali Imran

ISLAMABAD—While reviewing the Suo motto case of missing persons, the Apex Supreme Court has directed the secretary interior to produce all the details of missing persons until Nov 10.
The three-member bench presided over by CJ, and including Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan, Justice Mian Shakir Ullah Jan, and Justice Nasir -Ul-Mulk, directed the interior officials to work closely with personnel of agencies to retrieve the missing persons, since the Apex Court had proofs of involvement of these agencies in the abduction of these citizens.
The defendants requested the Apex court for some more grace at which the CJ reprimanded them for already availing too much of grace period, and refused to grant any further time, directing the summons of federal secretary interior, Secretary defence and other relevant officials to appear before the Court.
Heeding the orders of the Court, after the Court recess, secretary interior Syed Kamal Shah appeared and informed the Apex Court that secretary Defense was away to Karachi, but a meeting held before had seriously contemplated the issue and work was being carried out in accordance with judicial norms.
The secretary interior also informed the Apex Court that so far 186 missing persons have already reached their homes. On this instance Syed Iqbal Haider of Human Rights commission informed the Apex court that all available reports about the missing persons have been given to officials, and also informed the Court about impending rumors regarding probability of imposition of Martial Law and emergency in the Country, while the freedom and rights of Press/media, judiciary, and other institution s were in danger of being impounded.
The CJ brushed aside these reservations and concerns of Mr. Iqbal Haider reminding him that judges have had quite an experience of working under/with Martial Law authority as well.
Reverting back to the case of missing persons, he expressed his concerns about the lack of any progress in the case of missing Masood Janjua, ordering the officials to produce all relevant details within stipulated time.
The CJ also ordered an officer of the Establishment Division Amin Hashmi to speed up recovery of missing Atiq-Ur-Rehman of Abbotabad, and present a positive report in court at next hearing.
The Court also issued directives regarding DR, Imran Munir, ordering the authorities to leave him in PIMS (hospital), and present him in front of Court the next time.
The Court was adjourned until Nov 13th , to facilitate the government with sufficient time to locate all missing persons.
