Ten Sports acquires South Africa, Zimbabwe rights

Two brand-new acquisitions, half the Test-playing cricketing nations of the world will showcase their skills live and exclusive only on Ten Sports, the most watched sports channel of the sub-continent.

Taj Television Limited, owners of Ten Sports, announced they have won the telecast rights of all international cricket matches from South Africa and Zimbabwe for Asia and the Middle East, including India and Pakistan.

And with the rights of all international cricket played in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the West Indies already with the channel, Ten Sports is now the home for all the action from half the cricketing world.

Announcing this, Chris McDonald, CEO, Taj Television Limited, said: “By acquiring the telecast rights for South Africa and Zimbabwe, Ten Sports has significantly added to its broadcasts of the world’s best live cricket action. Our line-up of international cricket now extends through the end of the decade.”

Starting with the ongoing South Africa v Pakistan series, Ten Sports features nine tours over the next nine months, including India’s tours of Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

South Africa’s busy season after their tour of Pakistan includes a trip by New Zealand (November - December 2007), and by the West Indies soon after  (December 2007 to February 2008).
