Provision of facilities to improve learning environment: Anisa

ISLAMABAD—Minister of State for Education Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli said Wednesday that the government was taking solid steps to improve learning environment in educationalinstitutions through provision of missing facilities.
She said that besides revising the national educational curriculum, the government was also making efforts to provide missing facilities to educational institutions, which would go a long way to ensure conducive environment for students. As part of such efforts, the minister said that an ambitious programme was underway with technical support of Army engineers in the four provinces to provide missing facilities to the educational institutions. In first phase, she said, two districts had been selected ineach province to provide these facilities to educational institutions.
She said that there was no paucity of funds and the federal government was ready to provide funds to the provinces for provision of missing facilities in the educational institutions.
Thus, she added that they should fully utilize the fund to get concrete results of the project.
Replying to a question, the minister said that all decisions for development of education sector were being taken in consultations with the provinces. She said the ministry was also committed to ensuring qualitybooks and would hire services of only quality writers to make full use of the newly-revised curriculum, which would be updated after every five years.
