PTCL activates Voice Mail for customers
ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has
activated around 350,000 Voice Mailboxes for its landline subscribers
nationwide to provide value added services to consumers.
A press release issued by the company said that the facility has been
provided to top bill paying customers. The service allows call transfer
on busy and on no-reply and the caller is connected to the Mailbox of
the called number to record a message. The subscriber also has a choice
to transfer his call to any telephone number instead of his Mail Box.
Use of the Mail Box is entirely in the control of the subscriber for
which he has the call transfer feature available on his telephone set.
The subscriber has the option to discontinue using the service by
deactivating call transfer features from his telephone. He can
discontinue it completely or decide whether to use mailbox in case of no
reply or in case of busy.
The company also made it clear that no call is charged to the Mail Box
subscriber and the calling number is charged on local or long distance
tariff as the case may be. The subscriber can use a short code 1277 to
access Mailbox and listen to the recorded messages. This call by the
subscriber is charged as a local call depending on the tariff applicable
at that time of the day.—APP |
