Rawal Dam promenade to be inaugurated next month

ISLAMABAD—The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has completed first
phase of Rawal Dam promenade at a cost of Rs. 112.55 million, a CDA
official said.
He said it spreads over 25 acres being constructed with an aim to
provide better recreational facilities to local and foreigners.
The official said, “We have developed the promenade without disturbing
the natural habitat of the lake.”
The Authority has completed work on picnic area, ice-skating, mini golf
club, riding club, track for bikes and cars, beach volley ball, ball
shooting, dancing musical fountain, jogging track, camelride, food
courts, fast-food kiosks, boating jetty, artificial sandy beach, kids
play area and festival area in the first phase of the project, he said.
He said it is an environment-friendly project and theauthority has
conducted a thorough examination of all environmental aspects before
launching it.
In the second phase the Authority will undertake work onsurrounding
areas of Rawal Dam without felling of trees and harming the green area. |
