Changing of old water pipelines starts in city

RAWALPINDI—The changing of old pipelines in the city has been started aimed to make sure the provision of clean drinking water to the masses.
MD Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Lt Col (retd) Islam-ul-Haq in a statement said that the water pipelines in Union Council 46, 5, 4, 7, 3, 24 and 25 are being changed which are mixed with the Sewerage pipelines.
He said that Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi provided Rs. 180 million under Gastro package to make sure provision of clean drinking water to citizens.
The Managing Director of WASA further said that efforts are underway to complete the work of separation of the sewerage pipelines from water pipelines before the next summer.—Online
