Action against profiteers & hoarders

ISLAMABAD—Islamabad Capital Administration has intensified on going drive against profiteering and hoarding.
Chief Commissioner Islamabad Mr Hamid Ali Khan has set up a special team headed by the magistrates, which are conducting raids in the city to take stern action against its profiteers and hoarders. Team have been directed to keep monitoring of cold storage godowns closely. In this regard special team headed by the magistrates conducted raids in I-9 Industrial area and Sabzi Mandi Islamabad. Magistrate Mr Arif Rahim along with District Food Controller Mohammad Afzal Conducted raid in I-9 Magistrate Mr Arif Rahim told that during the raid on Malik Godown, the team confiscated some 800 cartons of expired milk from godown. Further necessary action is under way under the Pure Food Act. Mean while other team headed by the Magistrate Mohammad Liaqat Abbasi along with S.p Circle conducted raids in Sabzi Mandi and check the cold storage and godown.—Online
The Magistrate has warned all concerned to refrain from hoarding and ensure smooth supply of food items in the city. During price checking the team recovered sub-standard red chillies and haldi from a shop, which was destroyed on the spot. Magistrate has warned that quality of food item be ensured. Team also took sample of food item for test.
