‘Co-curricular activities enhance students’ learning skills’

ISLAMABAD—The co-curricular activities enhance the learning skills of
students and induce creativity in them.
These views were expressed by Vice Chancellor AIOU Prof. Dr.
Mehmood-ul-Hassan Butt on the closing ceremony of “Vice Chancellor
Excellence Award 2007” held here Wednesday.
The Naat and English debate contest were held today while the
competition of Urdu debate, Urdu Mazahia Nazam and national songs were
held on the first day of ceremony. Prof. Munawar Hussain Sulehri,
Regional Director, AIOU Rawalpindi Division while addressing the
participants appreciated the student’s efforts and theirspirit to
participate in the competition.
Nabeela student of MBA got first prize in Naat contest. While in Urdu
debate competitions, Wajid Hamid got first position, Hafiz Qaiser Naveed
second and Khurram Shahzad got third position.
While in Urdu Mazahia Nazam contest, Sikandar AlamKhan got first
position, Saqib Ahsan Saqi second andSaadia Zahid got third position.
In National Songs contest Zeeshan Rasheed, KanwalZahra Rizvi and Asima
Jabeen got first, second and thirdpositions respectively. The students
of the AIOU study centres situated inRawalpindi region participated in
these contests. The whole event was organized under the aegis of AIOU,
Regional Campus, Rawalpindi. Mehmood-ul-Hassan Butt distributed the cash
prizesand shields among the successful participants on the closing
ceremony. |
