Zardari excluded from ECL
By Asim Hussain

ISLAMABAD—The government has excluded the name of Asif Ali Zardari, the spouse of former Prime Minister and PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto, from Exit Control List (ECL), the sources told Geo News Tuesday. This initiative also part of National Reconciliation process has been taken as Benazir Bhutto ended her self-imposed exile of eight years on 18 October, the same day on which horrible and tragic carnage occurred as a result of suicide attack on Benazir’s caravan, which left at least 139 people dead and 450 others were injured.
The sources also said that the government has not withdrawn orders for providing special security to Benazir Bhutto. So far as the additional security of Benazir was concerned, the government has not received such request in written yet for the said purpose, the sources added.
Interior Ministry officials have denied reports that government has excluded former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and her spouse Asif Ali Zardari’s name from the Exit Control List.
