PM orders release of frozen funds

MUZAFFARGARH—Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has ordered to release funds for resumption of work on Sui gas supply scheme at Qasba Shah Jamal, senior central vice president PML Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmad Khan said on Monday. These funds were frozen following the arrest of former minister of State Shahid Jamil Qureshi in a murder case because the scheme was under execution in Mr. Qureshi’s constituency, SVP PML said. But now finance department has sought details from Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) regarding requirements of funds to resume work on the scheme to supply Sui gas to residents of Qasba Shah Jamal, he said.
