DG IB
ISLAMABAD—Presidential Spokesman Major General (retd) Rashid Qureshi on
Monday rejected Media reports that Director General of the Intelligence
Bureau, Brigadier (retd) Ijaz Shah was being relieved of his duties.
While commenting on media reports, the Presidential Spokesman stated,
“There is no question of his (Brig Ijaz Shah) removal from office,
keeping in view his outstanding contribution in important professional
duties, including combating terrorism with exemplary diligence and
devotion.
The Spokesman said DG IB had proven to be a thorough professional and
played a major role in the revamping and enhancing the capability of the
Intelligence Bureau. As a result of his untiring efforts, the IB had
emerged as a dynamic organization, comparable with any top international
outfit, the spokesman said.
Brigadier (retired) Ijaz Shah is a man of high calibre and professional
integrity, which has been acknowledged by the authorities, the spokesman
