International Red Crescent conference to start today

ISLAMABAD—A three-day International Red Cross and Red Crescent conference will start here from Tuesday, at Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) National Headquarters.
Delegates from all over the world will attend the conference being organized with an aim to support PRCS for next three years in the earthquake affected areas of NWFP and Azad Jammu and Kashmir besides capacity building of branches in disaster management and health related activities.
Besides the delegates high profile Red Cross and Red Crescent dignitaries from Geneva and Kuala Lumpur will also participate in the conference.
The delegates will also visit Manshera, Balakot and other quake affected areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to witness the PRCS reconstruction projects being carried out in these areas.
PRCS Chairman Saeed Ahmad Qureshi will give a briefing to the delegates on the three years plan of the PRCS while Secretary General Khalid Kibriya will give a detailed presentation on the PRCS three years role and plans. The conference will continue from October 23 to 25.
