CTTI training capacity being enhanced to fight unemployment

ISLAMABAD—For spread of professional and technical skills amongst the youth and to control unemployment thepresent government has chalked out plan for opening institutes like Construction Technology Training Institute (CTTI) in other parts of the country.
A source in Ministry of Communications told on Monday that CTTI formerly Construction Machinery Training Institute (CMTI) has been upgraded and its capacity increased.
He further said that under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) in present year’s budget Rs 243 million have been allocated for enhancement of training capability of CTTI. After the opening of new technical training institutes,Ministry of Communication plans to increase the number of trained students from these training institutes from 450 per year now to4500 per year.
“CTTI is such an institution that provides job guarantee tomaximum number of people after imparting technical knowledge tothem”,he said.
The Construction Technology Training Institute is a uniqueinstitute of Pakistan students of which get jobs even before completing their training courses”,the source said.The source saidthat Rs 165 million have been earmarked in the PSDP forestablishment of similar institutes in other parts ofthe country, so that the people may be provided professionalqualification. It may be mentioned here that construction work ofConstruction Machinery Training Centres in Hyderabad and Quetta isin full swing while funds have been allocated for construction ofsimilar centres in Swabi,Lahore and Gari Dupatta,Azad Jammu and Kashmir.—APP
