4 burnt in gas leakage blast in Dhok Charagdin

RAWALPINDI—Four persons were burnt in Dhok Charagdin, the populated area of Rawalpindi in a blast occurred due to gas leakage on Monday morning.
In the result of the blast, four person including a police official, his wife and their infant child were burnt who were shifted to Rawalpindi Hospital and District Headquarter Hospital by Rescue 1122.
Eye witnesses said that the two rooms of the building where the blast occurred were demolished due to the intensity of the blast and the window panes spread to the Railway Crossing while the debris fallen on four vehicles which were also completely damaged.
After getting reports of the incident, the vehicles and ambulances of Rescue 1122 and City Fire brigade reached on the spot and started the relief activities.
According to the staff of Bomb Disposal Squad, the blast occurred due to gas leakage. The Chapphar Hotel adjoined with the demolished building was also destroyed but no loss of live was reported as the hotel was closed at the time of the incident.
Eyewitnesses said that the police official, Wasif Hussain, his wife Shahnaz Fatima and her sister Wajihia Fatima and one and half month child of Wasif Hussain were burnt who have been shifted to RGH and DHQ where they are in critical condition.
The electricity lines also fell due to the intensity of the blast which suspended the electricity in the nearby areas while the staff of Chaklala Cantonment Board reached on the spot and cleared the road from windowpanes and debris.
