Pakistan Study Centre to be set up at Peking University, says Envoy

BEIJING—Pakistan to launch “Pakistan Study Centre” next month, at the Peking University, one of the prestigious higher learning institutions in China.
This was stated by Ambassador Salman Bashir while talking to media persons after participating in 4th Peking University International Cultural Festival in which Pakistan also took part by establishing a stall and presenting a cultural show.
“We will be very happy to have a Centre here and we will be launching it next month,” the Ambassador said. The Ambassador said that we have already reached an understanding with the authority concerned for launching the Centre here.
Expressing his delight over the participation in the festival, the Ambassador said Pakistani stall set up at the festival attracted a large number of visitors and added that “we are happy to be the part of this mega gathering held under the auspices of Peking University.”
He said that the Pakistan Embassy and a group of students belonging to Pakistan Embassy College also presented a colourful cultural show here. The Ambassador, however said that he believes that all the presentations at the festival were excellent.
He pointed out that within next coming days, Pakistan Embassy plans to participate in two-three more such kind of festivals in China.
Ambassador Salman Bashir said that Pakistan has rich history, culture, heritage and very attractive tourist destinations and by participating in these festivals, we would be able to highlight these treasures trove.—APP
