Young man, girl commit suicide

VEHARI—A young man and a teenage girl allegedly committed suicide by taking poisonous pills after their parents refused to support their marriage plan at Danewal town in Vehari on Sunday. Shehzadi Kanwal (18) and Umair Jamil (22) wanted to contract marriage after falling in love with each other, however, elders of both the families were not willing to accord approval to their wish, upon which, they took poisonous pills. They were rushed to the DHQ hospital Vehari after their condition deteriorated, however, they could not survive.—Agencies
