Calls against closure of Sunday Bazaar

ISLAMABAD—Expressing concern over the Capital Development Authority (CDA) decision to close G-9 Sunday bazaar for three months, the middle class of twin cities in Rawalpindi and Islamabad have the opposed the decision.
CDA has announced to relocate the bazaars from Peshawar Mor to Sector G-9 to Sector H-11. However, the general public resented the move. They said the Sunday Bazaar was a great facility as the prices were less as compared to the other markets of the capital. They said the bazaar was held thrice a week to facilitate the middle class to buy grocery.
They said they would face many hardships after the proposed closure. On the other hand, the stall owners said the CDA would take six months more to complete the project on account of slow work, adding it might take even a year. However, the authorities in CDA said that the construction work of new Bazaar in Sector H-11 was going on in full swing, adding that, they were fully aware of the needs and problems of the masses.—Online
