ICCI stresses submission of tax returns on due date

ISLAMABAD—President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry Nasir Khan while visiting the market of Islamabad stressed to the business community to submit their sales tax-cum-federal excise return on due date.
President ICCI also appreciated the Central Board of Revenue office order in which sales tax-cum-federal excise return and invoice summary statement for the tax period September, 2007 to 23 October 2007. He further said that CBR extended the date second time for t broadening the tax net. He added that CBR already declared the 2007 year for the broadening the tax net and particularly ICCI is assisting to increase the tax net. President ICCI Nasir Khan stressed all the business community of Islamabad to file their tax return in due date for the interest of their self as well as country’s prosperity. He said to the business community so the tax net has been broadened in theperiod of current Government and the process has been documented to end the problem of relationship between sale and submission of taxes.
President ICCI demanded to CBR to resolve the ongoing issues of traders, particularly the importers, with the tax authorities to win the confidence of business community. He further said that GDP growth could only be sustainable if the Government ensures timely investment in infrastructure development, which is not possible without expansion in tax net.
