Benazir’s return to bolster national reconciliation: PM

ISLAMABAD—Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz while dubbing Benazir Bhutto return to country good omen has said it will further stabilize the democracy besides bolstering national reconciliation process in the country.
“Benazir Bhutto return to Pakistan will give impetus to political activities. National reconciliation process will move forward, democracy will further strengthen and political environment will improve”, he said this while talking to the journalists after addressing a ceremony here Thursday.
To a question he said government remained in contact with different political parties for promotion of democracy in the country. Regarding Nawaz Sharif he said his matter was a different matter . His case was subjudice and he had gone abroad under a deal. But his party is there in assemblies and in the country and playing its role in country’s politics, he added.
About caretaker prime minister he said no name has been finalized so far in this respect. “This was needed in NWFP and we appointed caretaker chief minister. We want such people are included in caretaker government whose integrity and performance are equal for all. They should be free and they should hold elections in fair and transparent manner”, he added.
Earlier speaking at a ceremony held under Nazria Pakistan Council he
said “ we have to work for the country with national spirit, courage and integrity. We can translate the dreams of Quaid-e-Azam into reality by learning lesson from his principles, We have to counter the elements with unity who are working against the country. Our own people are playing into the hands of foreign forces. Such people are killing their own men. This negative process should come to an end, he stressed.
A lot of people opposed Pakistan movement, he said adding but Quaid-e-Azam did not give up struggle and achieved objectives. Today negative culture is enormous. Four or five people sit in drawing room and talk against the facts, he remarked.
He reiterated media was free and information of all sorts was available. Pakistan was standing at critical juncture of its history and “ we have to take it forward to betterment”, he underscored. “We are single Muslim nuclear power in the region. We should not suffer from inferiority complex and build environment of confidence.
Earlier addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of Aiwan-e-Qaid in Prime Minister house he said power comes to that person who is not after it. “ This has happened with me. I was not in pursuit of power but it came to me.
