Shamsul Mulk takes oath as NWFP CM

PESHAWAR—Engineer Shamsul Mulk took the oath as the caretaker Chief Minister of the NWFP here on Thursday. Governor Ali Muhammad Jan Orakzai has administered the oath at the Governor House.
Besides others, the ceremony was attended by chief secretary Frontier Riaz Noor, IG Frontier Constabulary Malik Naveed, former speaker Frontier Assembly Bakht Jahan Khan, Federal Minister for inter provincial coordination Salim Saifullah and other civil and military officials.
Talking to media after taking the oath, Shamsul Mulk said that his first priority would be to hold free, fair and transparent elections in the province.
NWFP Governor, Lt. Gen. (R) Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai had a courtesy call on with the Ex- Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani at the latter’s residence at Hayat Abad here Thursday. He remained with him for some time and both the leaders exchanged matters of mutual interest.
