By Bushra Makhdoom
ISLAMABAD—Ministry of Women Development would establish more women
centres throughout the country to provide relief to distress women, said
sources in the ministry here on Wednesday.
The source said that these centres would be equipped with all facilities
including free accommodation, free legal advice and vocational training
to restore a respectable status for the suffered inmates back in the
society.
The women, the source said, were contributing their valuable services
towards national development and Women Development Ministry’s role had
been instrumental to carry the trend forward, effectively.
The sources said that Ministry of Women Development successfully
implemented some programmes like IT training programme for women
councillors, Women’s Political School for capacity building of women
councillors and the on-going project Community Campaign for women
empowerment.
These programmes, the sources said, would help bring womenfolk into
mainstream of development to expedite socio-economic development process
for national prosperity.
Referring to the on-going ministry’s media campaign to prevent
violenceagainst women, the sources said, it was going ahead successfully
with all its aims and objectives.
The sources said most of the respondents of topic under the project
“Agahi Zaroori Hai” had rejected the violence against women, which
reflected the success of project.
Replying to a question, the sources rejected the impression created in
wake of some news reports that the project might come to closure due to
unavailability of funds.
“There is no paucity of funds and all projects were successfully
beingfinanced with commitment to make womenfolk self-reliant for
national prosperity”, the sources observed. |
