Dozens of PTCL consumers without link for many days

ISLAMABAD—Dozens of PTCL consumers of Tarlai Exchange are disconnected with the world due to cable break up for the last three months and authorities concerned are unable to find a solution of the issue.
A consumer Jarar Haider talking to APP said “It is quiteinteresting and mysterious that my phone remains out of order for eleven months in a year, but this is not an issue for me now. The problem is that I am still receiving a fair amount of bill,” adding who is using this number he does not know.
Another consumer Syed Tasaddaq Hussain said he is a retiredgovernment pensioner and can not afford mobile. He said his son is abroad for studies and he could not talk to him for more than eight weeks and urged the authorities concerned to take prompt action to rectify the problem. “My daughter is a student of MSc and she has to use Internetto download study material. She is quite disturbed with the situation as it was affecting her studies, said Ghulam Abbas adding he is undone as his complaints do not work. An official source in the exchange informed that earlier the cable near Paracha Chowk was broken at different places by the staff working on a road construction project for digging a sewerageline. He said after hectic efforts it was hardly restored that itwas stolen. He said a team of technical staff was engaged in repairing thenetwork and soon the people would get connected with the system.—APP
