Qazi files review petition in SC

ISLAMABAD—Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Qazi Hussain Ahmad has filed petition in Supreme Court (SC) praying the court to review its September 28 decision where by petition filed by him before larger bench against holding of dual offices by the president was rejected being non maintainable. .
The petition has been filed through Akram Sheikh advocate under article 188 of the constitution. The petitioner pleaded that he had challenged holding of dual offices by the president. The petition was rejected being declared non maintainable and this way legal requirements were not met. He prayed the apex court to review its verdict and declare his petition maintainable . 11 causes have been cited in the petition seeking review of the verdict.
It is laid down in the petition that issue of public importance has been raised in the case. The petition is maintainable under article 184 (3) of the constitution no matter it has come from an individual or group of persons or any political party, petitioner pleads in the application. The petitioner can challenge the candidature of any other presidential candidate without becoming candidate for presidential polls, he submitted.
