LAHORE—Former Governor Punjab Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar has announced to leave PPP lead by Benazir Bhutto in protest against BB’s deal with President Musharraf.
“I leave PPP lead by Benazir Bhutto” he said addressing a press conference here on Tuesday. Khar said that he would announce future course of action after Eid ul Fitr with the consultation of his friends in southern Punjab and other parts of the country.
To a query, he said that his joining of PML-N cannot be ruled out. Recalling his memoir, he said that Yayah Khan at the time of transfer of power to Z.A.Bhutto said that he (Yahya) want to stay in power without uniform for few years by taking the plea that his stay in power is in the interest of the country and army and America also wanted the same.
ZAB refused to accept Yayah’s demand and said that he would have to leave power as people of Pakistan wanted him to do it, Khar told. Khar said that Bhutto’s daughter walked against wishes of people of Pakistan and the principles for which the part keep on fighting for many years.
“BB got nothing out of deal and committed a serious mistake which dented the party a lot”, he said. He said that America and his blind followers in Pakistan are advancing their agenda but PPP has left its agenda.—Online
