Eid holidays of police personnel cancelled

ISLAMABAD—Eid holidays of Police personnel of Rawalpindi/Islamabad have been cancelled to ensure the security of life and property of the citizens of twin cities. This was decided in a high official meeting chaired by Minister of Interior Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao. The high official of Police department and law enforcement agencies of twin cities attended the meeting.
The concerned authorities were directed to intensify the security arrangements during the last ten days of Ramazan especially on Chand Raat and in commercial centers, markets and crowded public places especially in the evening. It was decided in the meeting to depute police personnel in plain clothes in commercial centers, shopping centers, and other crowded places and also directed the police personnel to ensure their patrolling in twin cities.
The meeting also directed the passengers traveling to other cities on Eid holidays to register their names in concerning police stations so that the proper arrangements of the security of their residents could be ensured. It has been decided in the meeting that the activities of the vagabond would be minotered in crowded places and shopping centers in Chand Raat. Sources quoting police officials told police commando force along with lady police would be deployed at shopping centers so that the ladies could continue Eid shopping with out any fear and this force would be changed after two hours.
