Heirs of missing persons stage demo

ISLAMABAD—Heirs of missing persons on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration in front of Parliament House and appealed to Chief Justice to take stern action for retrieving their cherished ones, otherwise they would commit self-immolation before the Supreme Court.
Chief Coordinator of Defence of Human Rights, Khalid Khawaja and Chairperson Amina Masood along with dozens of protesters demonstrated in front of Parliament House. They were holding placards and banners in which they appealed to the Chief Justice to recover their family members prior to Eid.
They also demanded to eliminate secret detention centers from the country. Talking to journalists, Khalid Khawaja appealed to the Chief Justice to suspend IG of concerned departments, if they will fail to bring the missing persons. Most of the people have been picked up by authorities from different police stations, he held. “ People are in search of justice from the last four years, but to no avail,” he added.
