4 stallholders fined for not displaying list at Sunday bazar

ISLAMABAD—Assistant Commissioner City Maryam Khan and City Magistrate Kamran Ali Cheema conducted surprise checking at Sunday Bazaar in Sector G-9 and Sasta Bazar in Sector G-7/2 on Sunday and imposed heavy fines on three stallholders at Sunday bazaar for not displaying rate list.
The stall holders were issued warning to display the rate list of food items prominently and also ensure the quality of food items, otherwise strict action will be taken against defaulters, said a Press release issued here on Sunday.
The magistrate also warned that ongoing anti profiteering drive would continue to check the profiteering trend strictly. Assistant Commissioner City and City Magistrate also checked security arrangements at weekly bazaars and directed Police officials and private security guards to remain extra vigilant and beef up security at weekly bazaar, markets and shopping centres in the wake of Eid-ul-Fitr. Assistant Commissioner City Maryam Khan also met with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials of weekly bazaars and directed them to ensure the availability of food items at the controlled rates and rates of weekly bazaar should be lower than the rates of open market.
Meanwhile, city magistrate Kamran Ali Cheema during price checking at G-7 Sasta bazaar directed the stallholders to ensure the quality of food items. Shopkeepers were displaying the rate list prominently. Food items were available in abundance in Sasta bazaar.
