CDA to construct two-storey parking plaza at Aabpara

ISLAMABAD—The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will construct two-storey parking plaza at Aabpara chowk to avoid traffic mess there, a CDA official said here Friday.
The two-level plaza would be constructed in the green belt area before the Aabpara market, he said adding the design and lay out plan has yet to be prepared.
The planning wing has also planned to construct an Inn at old “GTS Ada” for the commuters which would be one of its kind in the Federal Capital, the official said.
The Authority has also planned four other multi-storey parking plazas in the Capital.
The proposed sites include a plaza near the buildings of Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB), Savour Food and Sogo 2000 in Blue area, while the fourth would be constructed near the site of new Islamabad court (Katchari) in G-10 sector.
The official said the parking plazas would be triple-storey with parking capacity for 300 vehicles.
CDA would build these plazas under the formula of “Build, Operate and Transfer” (BOT).
Under BOT, private sector would be invited to build these parking plazas and once the construction would be completed the Authority would give it to other contractors on lease, the official said.—Agencies
