PM, aides
discuss PPP Reconciliation Order
ISLAMABAD—A high level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz
has reviewed and briefly discussed the general political scenario in
Pakistan, reconciliation with PPP and matters pertaining to the
Presidential election which will held tomorrow.
President PML-Q, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Secretary General Mushahid
Hussain Sayed, Federal Ministers including Zahid Hamid, Sikandar Hayat
Khan Bosan, Mohammad Ali Durrani, Jehangir Khan Tareen, Nouraiz Shakoor,
Mushtaq Ali Cheema, Liaquat Ali Khan Jatoi, Zafar Iqbal Warraich,
Mohammad Ali Malkani, Amin Aslam, Sardar Asif Nikkei, Khalid Khan Lund
and Raza Hayat Hiraj and Chairman NRB Daniyal Aziz also attended the
meeting.
During the meeting Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said that President
Musharraf’s successful re-election would promote an atmosphere of
tolerance, democracy and prosperity in Pakistan. The Prime Minister said
this while talking to PML President, Ch. ShujaatHussain, PML Secretary
General, Mr. Mushahid Hussain Sayed and a group of Ministers who called
on him at the PM’s House on Thursday afternoon. The Prime Minister said
that PML and its coalition partners strongly support the re-election of
President General Pervez Musharraf because continuity and consistency of
leadership and policies is essential for the progress of Pakistan.
Giving the example of several countries of Asia, the Prime Minister
highlighted that continuity of policies and leadership has given huge
gains to countries all over the continent as is also apparent in
Pakistan.
Ch. Shujaat Hussain said that PML and allied parties are all geared up
to participate fully in the upcoming general elections and will go to
the voters on the basis of their performance and track record of
policies that have brought improvement in the life of the people. He
said that PML is being organized at all levels and will bring forward
the best candidates in every constituency who have a strong vote bank
which will allow them to succeed in the upcoming general elections.
The Ministers apprised the Prime Minister of the working of their
respective ministries. They also congratulated him on the publication of
three-year performance report of the government and said that record
development has taken place during the tenure of the present government,
which includes job opportunities for the people and improved standard of
