So called national reconciliation is a joke with nation: APDM

ISLAMABAD—All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) has condemned in strongest words the possible national reconciliation between government and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) terming it a joke with the nation and country.
Reacting strongly to government-PPP deal, the APDM leaders said here on Thursday that in order to accomplish their own personal interests and vendetta, Benazir Bhutto and General Musharraf named the sham deal as National reconciliation.
The opposition leaders including Jamat-e-Islami Naib Amt Liaqat Baloch, Secretary General MMA Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman and Secretary General PML (N) Iqbal Zafar Jahgra categorically dismissed the possible government deal with PPP saying that the law is being promulgating to safeguard corruption and personal interests.
“This black law could not be named as National Reconciliation which safeguards corruption,” the APDM leaders said.
Liaqat Baloch said that the self-interest reconciliation between General Musharraf and Benazir Bhutto aimed to make grounds for the illegal and unconstitutional Presidential election. General Musharraf, he said, was so perturbed and frightened over the uncertain situation arisen from the APDM resignations that he was seeking help from the PPP Chairperson. Musharraf wanted to use PPP to legitimize the Presidential election, he added.
Baloch said that the Pakistan is engulfed of internal and international dangers and it is now order of the day to bring the country out of crisis and form national consensus. He blamed General Musharraf for “instability and deteriorating law and order situation”, adding “Musharraf has wasted all efforts of national reconciliation in the efforts of reelecting himself as uniformed President.”
It is must for reconciliation, he said, that Musharraf should leave the power and put an end to the unconstitutional process of Presidential election.
He said that for national reconciliation, Chairman Senate should be appointed as acting President and caretaker government of national consensus should be formed by calling a meeting of All Parties Conference.
Maulana Faza-ur-Rehman said that government and PPP were striking deal for their personal interests and necessities and not for national reconciliation or national interests. The nation, he said, has noting to do with this sham reconciliation. He reiterated that his party or APDM would not become part of this deal.
He said that General Musharraf has always claimed that he would end corruption from the country and now he himself is striking a deal to safeguard corruption. Labeling such a shameful reconciliation as national reconciliation is a slap on the nation face, he maintained.
Central Leader of Mutahidda Majlis-s-Amal Hafiz Hussain Ahmad termed the national reconciliation claim is nothing but a plot added that it is a military reconciliation plan rather than national reconciliation.
Talking to a private TV channel here on Thursday, he said that the opposition held negotiation with Musharraf in the past for national reconciliation and to end military rule but they were not succeeded. Now the government and striking deal for personal interests and not reconciliation, he added
He said the government trying to deceive the nation on the name of national reconciliation which is nothing but a political drama to gain power once again illegally and unconstitutionally.—Agencies
