Birdhouse
project to cost Rs60m
ISLAMABAD—The Capital
Development Authority (CDA) has completed pre-qualification of firms for
the construction of birdhouse (Bird Ivory) alongside the Rawal Lake.
Upto 7 firms submitted application in this respect out of which three
have been selected. Tender of these three companies will be issued on
Oct 15. Director Project Sanaullah Aman said that the construction work
to establish birdhouse-measuring land of 4 acres would begin in first
week of November and will be completed within 8 months.
The birdhouse will be akin to European style and upto 100 types of bird
will be imported throughout the world especially from Australia and
South Africa, he said. He said that the consultant firm of Lahore has
prepared the design of birdhouse. The visitor will have to pass through
specific ways to see birds and bridges will be constructed in this
respect, he maintained. The Project will bear cost of Rs. 60 million.
